Antique Bottles

Antique bottles are truly a part of history. The different types of bottles tell a story about a particular industry or way of life. Geodes

Geodes, sometimes called Thunder Eggs are forms in volcanic rocks where water has worn away a pocket in the rocks leaving behind different minerals in the cavity such as iron, quarts and agate. The large variety of elements that is used to create thunder eggs accounts for the differences in size and color of the specimen. No two will ever be exactly the same. The larger the mineral sample and the more colors that show will determine the value of your find. The largest geode ever found was the size of a minivan discovered in Put in Bay, Ohio.
Accordingto legend the Thunder Spirits lived on Mount Hood and Mount Jefferson. When the Thunder Spirits became angry at each other they threw these thunder eggs at each other.
Geodes have also been found at Succor Creek, white Fir Springs and in Crook, Jefferson, Malheur, Wasco and Wheeler counties.
